IRAP Assessor Role

We are seeking an experienced IRAP Assessor with a background in Defence to support our clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with Australian Government security requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent assessments of the security posture of IT systems and services, ensuring compliance with the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed assessments of IT systems and services against the IRAP framework, identifying security risks and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand system architectures, security controls, and vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports, including findings, recommendations, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to ensure a clear understanding of assessment processes and outcomes.
  • Stay current with Australian Government security policies, standards, and frameworks, and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assessment methodologies and processes.
  • Support clients through the remediation process by providing expert advice on security controls and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, specifically within a Defence context.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of the IRAP framework and Australian Government security requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Security Clearance Requirement:
  • A current Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance is required for this position. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a PV clearance, which includes a thorough background check.
