Lead Linux Kernel Engineer

This senior-level position plays a crucial role in driving the architecture, implementation, and delivery of key aspects of Ubuntu Linux kernel. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the technical direction, leading a team of junior and mid-career engineers, and collaborating with senior technical leadership on ensuring Ubuntu stays at the pinnacle of Linux distributions.

\

We are seeking individuals with a proven track record in operating systems kernel development or low-level system engineering. Experience with C programming language, Unix-based operating system kernels, and software packaging formats is highly regarded.

\

Able to travel internationally, the selected individual will have opportunities to work closely with management within and outside the team to track and coordinate initiatives to delivery.
