Traffic Engineer Position Overview

This role involves undertaking traffic and transportation planning, design, consultation, and construction services to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods within a designated area.

  • Key responsibilities include facilitating council committees, project managing traffic projects, preparing funding applications, assessing heavy vehicle permits, reviewing development applications, and commenting on traffic management plans.
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, acceptable for full membership of Engineers Australia, and/or extensive technical knowledge within a relevant discipline, complemented by demonstrated experience in traffic and transport design, planning, and investigation services.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Proficiency in CAD software programs and detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of public consultation associated with traffic and transport planning, design, and investigation.
  • A class C drivers' licence is also required.
