We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Specialist to support the Senior Engagement Advisor / Engagement Lead in executing community engagement strategies within their designated precinct of a major infrastructure project.

This role is key in fostering positive relationships with local stakeholders, supporting the Construction team, and ensuring minimal community disruption during project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify stakeholder and community issues and develop strategies to minimize impacts.\
  • Ensure client expectations are understood and develop strong working relationships with the client.\
  • Assist in developing and implementing the Stakeholder Relations and Communications Management Plan, including updates as required.\
  • Build good relationships with the construction team to ensure activities are strategically undertaken, minimizing impact and disruption.\
  • Provide advice to the construction teams on community and stakeholder activities, ensuring communication and notification requirements are met per the plan.\
  • Produce high-quality communication materials such as notifications, newsletters, advertisements, social media posts, and formal correspondence, and coordinate residential door knocks as needed.\
  • Manage responses to all project-related communications via phone, email, website, and social media, in line with the client framework.\
  • Tertiary degree, certificate, or relevant experience in public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, or marketing.\
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, including at least 2 years in an advisory role.\
  • Experience in developing and implementing community engagement plans within construction or infrastructure sectors.\
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships.\
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.\
  • Familiarity with the local area and community dynamics is highly desirable.\
