Experienced Lawyer/Associate – Construction
About the RoleWe currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced construction law professional to join our litigation team, working with Paul Woods and Anna Scannell.
The construction team has five Partners and handles both front-end and back-end matters. The team has a strong pipeline of varied and interesting work across a range of clients, including large construction companies, developers, government departments, and entities.
This role involves working on a variety of matters for both public and private clients, including:
- Disputes related to time (extensions of time and delay costs)
- Variations
- Defects (including latent defects) on construction and infrastructure projects
Litigated construction disputes in Victorian Courts. Arbitrations under domestic commercial arbitration legislation in Australia. Expert determination and mediation. Advising on construction insurance policies (experience in this area is a bonus but not essential).
Industries include commercial, energy, gas, electricity, road, rail, mining, and residential projects. We are committed to maintaining our reputation as a high-performing construction team, delivering outstanding technical knowledge, excellent client service, and a solid understanding of our clients' legal expectations.
