Key Responsibilities- Commercial Opportunity Identification: Identify and develop new commercial opportunities for category expansion, including sourcing and developing new products.
- Supplier Engagement: Engage and source key suppliers for World's best brand and Exclusive Brands.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage and engage with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to build effective working relationships and achieve outcomes in alignment with the category strategy.
- Logistics and Supply Chain: Ensure the most efficient logistics, warehousing, and shipping options are chosen for each product.
- Profit Maximization: Maximize profitability of all products through a deep understanding of your category and the market.
- Category Development: Be proactive, innovative, and strive to continually develop your category for our customers.
- Trading Terms and Pricing: Actively negotiate the best possible trading terms and prices.
- Promotional Strategy: Drive and control our promotional strategy and price changes across our different sales channels.
- Inventory Management: Ensure timely sourcing and purchase of products and stock management, ensuring fulfillment of customer demand.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance and complete range reviews across your category, recommending actions where necessary.
- Education: University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business, Entrepreneurship, Merchandising, Planning, eCommerce, or similar).
- Experience: Experienced as a Category Manager, preferably within an eCommerce, Retail, or FCMG environment.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships through exceptional communication and engagement.
- Commercial Acumen: Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognize opportunity and make quick, impactful decisions for the best commercial outcomes.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, being agile, flexible, and adaptable is key to success.
- Technical Skills: Tech-savvy and able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Critical Thinking: Able to apply logical thinking and think critically in interpreting data, leading to actionable insights to improve the best possible outcomes.
