Canonical is seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our efforts in optimizing and expanding the Ubuntu gaming experience.

">

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project timelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality performance and modern design principles.

">

You will work closely with upstream projects like Proton and partners like Unity to enhance Ubuntu's gaming capabilities and drive performance improvements across a wide range of hardware.

">

Additionally, you will engage actively with the open-source community to gather feedback and collaborate on improvements, contributing to not just Ubuntu but the wider Linux gaming ecosystem.

Requirements:

">

* An undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.

">

* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with upstream projects and partners.

">

* Familiarity with the Linux graphics stack spanning user-space components to low-level kernel drivers.

">

* Exceptional software project management skills, encompassing risk assessment and resource allocation.

">

* Ability to balance technical leadership with effective team management.

">

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
