About the Role

The APS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join the Naval Construction Branch (NCB) in Adelaide. As a key member of the Business Cost Team, you will play a critical role in the implementation and delivery of continuous shipbuilding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake cost investigation and assurance activities to ensure invoice claims are accurate and compliant with contracts, legislation, financial regulations, and policies;
  • Provide analysis of shipbuilding cost performance and shipyard costs, and assess reported forecast and variations using earned value management and other cost performance techniques and tools;
  • Assist with the preparation and ongoing management of various shipbuilding budgets, working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders within the Defence maritime environment;
  • Manage workflow to ensure priorities and key expected results are met.

About the Team

The NCB is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work, and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA, and have a detachment in Henderson, WA, and a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW.

The NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt, and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or business management, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
