Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Farm Hand. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of crop farming duties, including grain, hay, and straw operations. They will also be required to operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery, including combines, balers, mowers, tractors, and loaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of crop farming duties, including grain, hay, and straw operations
  • Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery, including combines, balers, mowers, tractors, and loaders
  • Perform mechanical workshop duties and machinery maintenance
  • Conduct general farm duties, including fencing and yard maintenance
  • Drive a truck and transport goods and equipment as required

Requirements

  • Must have experience with broadacre cropping
  • Previous experience with machinery operation, including headers, balers, mowers, seeders, sprayers, tractors, and loaders
  • Mechanically minded with good knowledge of machinery maintenance and ability to complete it to a high standard
  • Ability to work well in a team and unsupervised
  • Honest and reliable, with good health and hygiene
  • Hold a valid HR driver's license or above

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of $40, depending on experience
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with extra hours required during peak periods
  • Accommodation: a brand new 2-bedroom house on the farm, suitable for singles and couples
  • Work vehicle provided, along with running costs for farm business use
