Job Title:
Critical Care Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
We seek a skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a critical care nurse specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and coordinating the delivery of care by junior staff and students within the Critical Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct and comprehensive patient care to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and care paths.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledge accountability for own actions.
• Maintain and promote harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective teamwork between staff, patients, relatives, doctors, and ancillary staff.
• Assist and collaborate with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the care team and report changes in patients' status to appropriate personnel.
• Initiate discharge planning on patients' admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.
• Document any incidents and report these to NUM/ANUM.

Requirements:
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Post-graduate qualification in critical care and recent clinical experience within ED with resus and triage highly desirable.

Benefits:
• Salary $79,535 to $100,984 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation.
