
Quality Meal Preparation and Service Specialist

As a casual Food Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating and serving delicious meals that bring joy to our residents.
About the role: You will assist in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Food Safety Program (FSP) under the guidance of the Chef/Cook. This includes assisting in providing a variety of quality food and beverages that meet residents' individual needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery of high-quality meals and beverages to residents, ensuring they meet individual dietary requirements and preferences as specified by the dietician, speech therapist, or clinical care team
- Contribute to menu planning and the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of the Food Safety Program (FSP) in partnership with the Chef Supervisor.
- Ensure stock items are reported for ordering and maintain a clean and safe work environment by promoting safe work practices.
- Support the ongoing quality review of the FSP, including tasks like recording temperatures and receipting goods.
- Ensure the timely and friendly delivery of meals, and report any concerns regarding food and beverages to the Registered Nurse in charge.
- Any other task not defined but within the employee's skills, as directed by the organisation.
Requirements:
- Food Handling Course (can be acquired during induction)
- Current NDIS check (or ability to acquire).
- Experience in residential aged care, and hospitality or catering.
- Current flu-vax
- Ability to work over a 7-day period, morning and afternoon shifts
- To be considered for employment, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry
