Job Overview:

The position of Policy Officer involves developing and implementing key policies and projects for waterway management in Victoria, supporting the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy and Water is Life.

This role will work with various stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for river health and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and implementing policies and projects that align with the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy.
  2. Collaborating with key delivery partners to ensure effective project management.
  3. Communicating effectively with Aboriginal communities and having an in-depth knowledge of Aboriginal culture.

Successful candidates will possess strong policy and project management skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration experience.

Requirements:
  1. A degree qualification or higher in a relevant field, such as science, environmental engineering, natural resource management, or environmental law.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's water resource management framework and/or impacts of climate change on water resources or waterway health outcomes.
  3. Skills, experience, and knowledge of Aboriginal Culture and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal Victorians today.

This is an ongoing position with hybrid work arrangements available. The work location is East Melbourne, and applicants are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter summarizing their skills and relevant experience.
