Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Program Delivery team within our Project Management Office (PMO) at Cairns Regional Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of projects from the Capital Works Program, ensuring they are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design and construction of capital works projects, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Develop and implement project management plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and lead project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to engineering, contract management, and project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), or equivalent (Bachelor, Bachelor of Technology, or Associate Degree).
- Demonstrated project management and contract management experience in a medium to large multi-disciplined organization.
- Strong engineering/technical knowledge and project management skills.
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of relevant Acts, Codes of Practice, and Standards.
- Strong ability to manage self and others, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
