Job Description:

Children's Ground is a First Nations organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. As a Men's Health Promotion Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering health promotion goals and making a real difference in the community.

You will work closely with local First Nations people and elders to develop and deliver culturally appropriate health and wellbeing programs. Your goal will be to promote family health and wellbeing, recognising and respecting the agency and cultural knowledge systems of First Nations people.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering health promotion activities that engage and empower First Nations communities. You will also support service delivery by developing and implementing family health plans with individuals and families.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in health promotion or a related field
  • Strong understanding of traditional and western health principles
  • Ability to work positively with people's strengths and capacities, seeking opportunities for genuine inclusion
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Organisation skills with knowledge of online ordering and payment management systems

About the Role:

This position is for a male identified First Nations person with a strong understanding of traditional and western health. The successful candidate will have a passion for social justice, improving outcomes for First Nations communities, and being part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Delivery of the Children's Ground Family Health & Wellbeing Model – Health in the Hands of the People
  2. Program Design, Standards, and Implementation
  3. Information and data systems, monitoring, and reporting
  4. Contribute to Children's Ground
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Experience working with First Nation people and communities
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment
  • Strong organisation skills
  • A current Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain
