Metallurgist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled metallurgist to join our team-based operations at Karara Mine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the operating teams, ensuring metallurgical accounting data integrity and enhancing plant performance in line with safety and cost imperatives.

  • Maintaining daily plant metallurgical performance and providing operational assistance.
  • Developing and updating strategies and guides for process operator training.
  • Identifying and rectifying inefficiencies and bottlenecks using operational data.
  • Providing technical reports on plant performance and minor projects with statistical analysis.
  • Executing laboratory and plant testing for production quality control programs.
  • Ensuring Quality Assurance and Control systems are in place to meet product specifications.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A valid WA driver's license.
  • Demonstrated experience in mineral processing operations, including crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtering plants, magnetic separation, and magnetite processing.
  • Experience in a similar position in the mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Knowledge of metallurgical accounting and process control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Australian citizenship or a valid visa with permission to work.
