Meter Exchange Technician/Meter Exchanger

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working outdoors and contributing to their community.

As a Meter Exchanger, you will be responsible for driving to an allocated route each day and completing the exchange of water meters, reading and recording all details in an electronic hand-held device.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that correct procedures are followed during meter exchanges
  • Notify property owners or occupants before replacing any meters whenever feasible
  • Replace meters safely according to ARA health and safety procedures
  • Verify that the replacement of a meter is recorded and confirm that the owner or occupant has been notified about the meter replacement
  • Meet efficiency targets
  • Uphold ARA safety standards and represent the company professionally
  • Communicate regularly with office support team
  • Upload and download route information to and from hand-held device
  • Report to office as required
  • Work independently

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Sound mechanical aptitude
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good attention to detail
  • Ability to undertake plenty of walking, bending, and squatting (good level of fitness and physical ability)
  • Ability to work in most weather conditions
  • Availability to work Mon - Fri, 30 - 35 hours per week
  • Current valid driver's license
  • Ready to learn and enjoy working independently and autonomously
  • On time, reliable, punctual, and able to meet strict deadlines
  • Flexible and comfortable with daily travel
