Your Role

In the position of Trades Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Site Preparation: Aid in the maintenance of site facilities.
  • Environmental Compliance: Oversee and uphold site-specific environmental checklists.
  • Project Coordination: Support the management of subcontractors.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to cleanliness standards on site.
  • Site Security: Confirm that all fencing is secured and gates are locked at the end of each workday.
  • Safety Documentation: Gather material safety data sheets.
  • Risk Management: Participate in the evaluation of the Risk and Opportunity Register, identifying necessary controls or actions to mitigate risks.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Project Tracking: Assist in updating project schedules and monitoring work progress.
  • Environmental Oversight: Manage and maintain site-specific environmental compliance checklists.
  • Quality Control: Support quality assurance efforts on site, including defect management and final inspections.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining necessary files and registers.
  • Compliance: Help compile handover documentation.
  • Health and Safety: Understand and adhere to the company's health and safety protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain site records as per procedural guidelines.
  • Implementation: Facilitate the execution of health and safety systems.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that hazard analyses and risk assessments are conducted prior to the commencement of subcontractor work on site.

Your Unique Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Trades Assistant in general maintenance.
  • A relevant trade qualification.
  • A solid understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, along with necessary certifications such as a White Card (Construction).
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate with all stakeholders.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • A positive mindset and a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
