Forensic Psychologist Role

A highly skilled forensic psychologist is required to work in the Regional and Rural Community Services within the Grampians region.

The role involves providing specialist psychological, psychometric and risk assessments and reports where required.

This position requires a senior level of clinical and forensic psychological expertise as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About the Role:
  • Conduct specialist psychological, psychometric and risk assessments and reports where required.
  • Provide consultancy and advice to other agencies and key stakeholders on mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement individual and/or group based interventions as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and deliver treatment interventions to clients in settings external to Forensicare, where required.
  • Contribute to patient risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide effective care and treatment for mentally disordered offenders.
Requirements:
  • Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology from an accredited course.
  • AHPRA approved area of practice in clinical psychology and/or forensic psychology.
  • Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychologists Registration Board of Australia, in the area of clinical psychology.
  • At least five years' experience practicing as a fully registered psychologist.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
