Rural Health Educator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rural Health Educator to join our team at Flinders University. This role will play a critical part in delivering high-quality health education and research in regional areas.
As a Rural Health Educator, you will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching materials, leading lectures and tutorials, and engaging with e-learning platforms. You will also contribute to the development of new curricula and pedagogical approaches that cater to the unique needs of rural and remote communities.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and learning, with experience working in rural or remote settings. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials and programs that meet the needs of rural and remote students
- Lead lectures and tutorials, and engage with e-learning platforms to enhance student learning
- Contribute to the development of new curricula and pedagogical approaches that cater to rural and remote communities
- BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND COLLEAGUES TO ENSURE EFFECTIVE PROGRAM DELIVERY
- EVALUATE AND REFINE TEACHING PRACTICES TO ENSURE HIGH-QUALITY OUTCOMES FOR STUDENTS
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Significant teaching and learning experience, preferably in rural or remote settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and colleagues
- A deep understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on rural and remote communities
- An ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to collaborative decision-making
