Senior Learning and Development Officer

The role of the Senior Learning and Development Officer is to develop and deliver a range of learning options for staff at youth detention centres in Queensland.

The focus will be on re-developing existing face-to-face training sessions into e-learning and blended learning options, making them engaging for frontline staff and ensuring they are well prepared for challenging roles.

  • Develop and deliver learning solutions that contribute to workforce objectives.
  • Use technological programs to design, develop, and deliver learning solutions.
  • Build professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure content is contextualised and relevant.
  • Provide authoritative advice on strategic learning and development issues.
  • Prepare reports, briefs, and correspondence on learning and development issues.
  • Represent the Youth Detention Training at forums and meetings.
  • Conduct research and analysis to assist with strategic planning and policy objectives.
  • Participate as part of a high-performing team and provide leadership and support.

Demonstrate cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with human rights and supports departmental programs and community partnerships.
