About the Role

Hope Community Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor/Educator to join our team in Hedland, Western Australia. As a Counsellor/Educator, you will play a key role in delivering individual and group support services to individuals experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues, mental health concerns, or other life challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Deliver counselling and therapeutic support to clients">
  • Facilitate educational programs and group sessions">
  • Conduct assessments and create individualised treatment plans">
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders">
  • Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in line with HOPE's standards">

Essential Criteria:

">
  • ">
  • A relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Community Services, or related field, or at least five (5) years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications">
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a counselling, education, or AOD/mental health support role">
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice and harm minimisation">
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills">
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)">
  • Valid driver's licence">
