We're seeking a highly skilled Robotics Software Engineer to join our pioneering social robotics startup. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing our empathetic companion robot, Abi, to life.
The Role:- You will be responsible for transforming groundbreaking ideas into real-world capabilities, driving innovation and progress in the field of robotics.
- Collaborate with our diverse team to craft and refine algorithms for localisation, mapping, motion planning, and interactive behaviour.
- Develop perception and computer vision pipelines, implementing sensor fusion, closed-loop control, and deep learning techniques.
- Implement robust motion planning and navigation strategies, enabling Abi to move safely and gracefully through real-world environments.
- Create manipulation and whole-body control algorithms that empower Abi to handle objects and adapt to uncertain conditions.
To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's/ Masters/ PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, as well as 5+ years of professional robotics software experience.
We require proficiency in C++ and Python for production-level robotics applications, including build systems and test-driven development.
Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) for tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, and localisation is also essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of probability, optimisation, and linear algebra, applied to robotics use cases in navigation, manipulation, or perception, is necessary for this position.
