Electrical Rolling Stock Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Electrical Rolling Stock Specialist to provide expertise and support to emerging fleet issues as well as the introduction of new rail products.

  • Hands-on involvement in the electrical design aspects of rail fleet, including metro, high-speed, light rail vehicles or locomotives.

This position is aimed at someone with a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in the design and manufacture or retrofit of rolling stock or electrical auxiliaries.

  • Electrical Engineering Degree required.
  • CPEng, RPEQ or MIEAust membership preferred.
  • Experience in CAD and familiarity with rail standards such as EN, RISSB and AS/NZ.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and checking/review of rail components and systems ensuring they conform to required rail and safety standards.
  • Diagnose and correct failures and deficiencies within existing rolling stock.
  • Ensure designs comply with rail industry regulations and client requirements.
  • Incorporate whole life costs into design changes, ensuring that designs are cost effective.
  • Team mentorship and stakeholder engagement.
