About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to join our community and support children and families in their learning journey.

The successful applicant will work closely with educators, specialist support staff and other stakeholders to understand the child's needs and connect families with local services and resources that foster engagement with learning.

This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies to support children's learning and wellbeing by working collaboratively with them and their families.
  • Establish connections between families and local service providers to ensure access to necessary resources.
  • Promote school communities' awareness of vulnerable children and families' needs and facilitate engagement in learning for improved outcomes.

Requirements for Success
  • A strong ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or a willingness to develop culturally appropriate skills and knowledge.
  • Familiarity with local demographics and service providers would be highly valued.
