Who We Are
Gracemere State School is located in the heart of Gracemere on the outskirts of Rockhampton and caters for students for Prep - Year 6. The School's core purpose, building a healthy and engaged community, is built on established traditions and high expectations with strong parent and community engagement and support. Step Into Your Next Chapter
This position is a cluster arrangement between Gracemere State School and Waraburra State School, operating on a five-day fortnight rotation across both sites.
Responsibilities- Work with classroom teachers, teacher aides and specialist support staff to understand the child's needs and connect families with services, such as health, therapeutic and developmental interventions to support engagement with learning.
- Work with and support the needs of vulnerable children from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations young persons with disability and young persons in care.
- Support family capacity building to assist their child's learning, development and wellbeing, ongoing engagement in school, and the school to respond to the complex needs of students and families.
- Assist school communities advocating for vulnerable children and families to address their needs and facilitate engagement in learning for improved learning outcomes.

What You Bring- Experience working in a culturally responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches is essential.
- Knowledge of the region's demographic and local service providers and agency supports would be highly regarded.
