Talent Focus Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our client's team in Darra, QLD. Our client is a leading manufacturer of tailored metal products for the mining and construction industries.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated individual to lead and coordinate our fabrication and machining department, efficiently plan works orders through to management of production schedules, purchasing of raw materials and supplier management to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning and Control: Develop, implement and control production schedules/plans to meet customer demand and maximise workshop efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and other departments to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Quality Management: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that products meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Staff Development: Provide leadership and guidance to production staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Performance Management: Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods to support production schedules.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Prior knowledge of Exonet desirable.
  • Computer literate.
