Heavy Diesel Fitter Job Description

As a Heavy Diesel Fitter, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing large-scale mobile mining equipment.

  • Completing general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component changeouts to a high standard.
  • Sourcing technical information from relevant manuals, OEM and computer-based systems.

Key responsibilities include ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times and conducting required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Trade Qualified Plant Mechanic Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) or similar qualification.
  • Post-trade experience working in the Mining or Heavy Earth Moving industry.
  • Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component changeouts and servicing of Heavy Earthmoving equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Liebherr and CAT large earthmoving equipment.
