The Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) team serves as the internal audit function for the Group, providing independent and objective evaluations of the effectiveness of our risk management, control systems, and governance processes.

In a rapidly evolving landscape marked by changing customer expectations and competitive pressures, GA&A is committed to delivering new insights and comprehensive risk coverage that prioritize our customers. Over the past few years, GA&A has integrated digital assurance into our audit practices, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for routine control assessments and employing digital tools to enhance the overall experience for our team members.

By streamlining administrative tasks, we have increased our capacity for high-value, judgment-based activities and expanded our support to include knowledge sharing and tools that enhance risk coverage across the Bank.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a key member of the Technology and Cybersecurity audit team within GA&A, you will:

  • Develop detailed audit strategies for cloud infrastructure, DevOps methodologies, and engineering practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of cloud environments, configurations, and deployment processes.
  • Assess security measures, access management protocols, data protection strategies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within cloud architectures and services.
  • Analyze DevOps workflows and automation tools to uncover security gaps.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations for maintaining compliance in cloud settings.
  • Evaluate infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies.
  • Document audit findings, recommendations, and risk assessments clearly and concisely.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Oversee the effective planning and execution of audits in line with CBA Internal Audit Methodology.
  • Support and supervise audit activities from planning through to closure, ensuring adherence to key audit stage-gates.
  • Utilize innovative thinking to solve problems and actively participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing our processes.
  • Draft audit issues and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure factual accuracy and appropriate ratings.
  • Build independent and objective relationships within GA&A and across the Bank to facilitate effective knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Your Skills and Experience

  • In-depth understanding and experience in cloud and engineering practices, including secure code management and deployment methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of IT domains such as containers, network security, CI/CD, engineering, AWS IAM, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in auditing cloud-based environments is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies is also preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to engage senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Proven ability to meet objectives and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Your Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of auditing or relevant experience.
  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified Professional are preferred.
  • Experience in cloud engineering, DevOps practices, or infrastructure security is desirable.
  • Familiarity with audit methodologies, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
