Mental Health Navigator Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in mental health and addiction care? This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of providing evidence-based assessment and treatment as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves leading quality improvement initiatives, supporting clinical supervision, and managing essential administrative responsibilities to enhance service outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychology, occupational therapy, or social work, with demonstrated experience in providing evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment to consumers with drug and alcohol and mental health issues.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support clinical supervision.
  • Manage essential administrative responsibilities to enhance service outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications as an occupational therapist or psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified social worker which provides eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in providing evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment for consumers with drug and alcohol and mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
