Therapeutic Lead for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children

This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality therapeutic care for children and young people who have experienced significant adversity.
You will be responsible for supervising, supporting, and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people in placement with the agency, focusing on providing specific supports to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support children and young people to promote positive outcomes and well-being
- Engage positively with all children and young people, promoting their best interests, safety, and well-being
- Ensure cultural safety through fostering a positive cultural identity within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people
- Develop positive, collaborative relationships with extended family and the local Aboriginal community
- Work as part of a care team, undertaking tasks and actions as agreed by the team
Requirements:
- Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment
- Current National Criminal History Check Certificate
- First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- A valid driver's licence
- Roadworthy and comprehensively insured vehicle
Personal Qualities:
- Respectful, empathetic, and compassionate towards children and young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies
- High level of energy and enthusiasm for working with children and young people
