Key Responsibilities- Lead by identifying opportunities and impediments, and develop strategies that will have a positive impact on regional economic development, consistent with the Queensland Government's strategic focus.
- Encourage mutual exchange of ideas, data, and information, engaging stakeholders as active contributors to our work.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with regional stakeholders through best practice service delivery within a continuous improvement lens.
- Enhance service delivery by harnessing the diverse discipline, background, and perspective of the existing team.
- Work collaboratively and provide leadership to develop clear and shared objectives that inspire collective ownership for delivery of quality outcomes.
- Identify opportunities and contribute positively to all regional office activities, including project planning and implementation, internal governance to support accurate and timely reports, briefings, submissions, and other documentation that may be required.
You will be part of a team that is making a difference by leading industry development and regional programs, aligned to the Department's strategic plan. Our State Development regional teams across Queensland coordinate the delivery of initiatives such as departmental programs and workshops, to link industry and regional business and grow regional supply chains and productivity.
The regional teams engage with regional stakeholders and work with regional economic development partners to support and advocate for the strategic delivery of regional economic priorities. They lead place-based developments and economic and industry strategies, and are also the Local Economic Opportunities Network (LEO) representatives, supporting state and local governments in responses to adverse events.
