Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to lead the delivery of critical IT services for a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension. As a Technical Infrastructure Leader, you will be responsible for managing the effective delivery of IT services, ensuring they meet business needs and align with ITIL best practices.

You will provide advanced technical leadership across a broad range of IT systems and services, including Microsoft Windows environments, cloud platforms, and enterprise data protection tools. Your expertise in automation and scripting will be essential in driving continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of IT services, ensuring they meet business needs and align with ITIL best practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical leadership across a range of IT systems and services, including Microsoft Windows environments, cloud platforms, and enterprise data protection tools.
  • Drive automation and scripting initiatives using tools like PowerShell, Bicep, and Azure Infrastructure as Code.
  • Oversee virtualisation platforms, networking and security technologies, and application delivery solutions.
  • Provide technical solutions that integrate diverse systems to deliver maximum value to the organisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, ensuring clear and effective communication of IT service goals and outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
  • ITIL certification or proven experience in Service Management principles.
  • 8+ years experience in IT, with at least 3–5 years in a senior management or leadership position.
  • Expertise in key technologies including Microsoft products, Azure, virtualisation, networking, security, and data protection.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with experience in managing teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and analytical abilities with a focus on business outcomes.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, managing competing priorities and resources.
