Job Description

The Test Manager plays a crucial role in the Data Team, driving innovation and continuous improvement in testing practices.

We are undergoing a significant transformation from traditional databases to an advanced Data Lakehouse architecture. This involves migrating all data collection forms and enhancing data management practices.

The role requires establishing new testing practices, planning and reporting on tests, and implementing innovative testing methods. An agile, iterative approach is essential for success, as collaboration with senior leaders in technology, data, and business areas is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement test strategies for data collection tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  2. Oversee the design and execution of test plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address challenges.
  3. Ensure robust testing of data storage solutions, validating architectures and processes, and implementing automated testing frameworks.
  4. Lead testing efforts for analytics tools, validating integration with data sources, and developing automated test scripts.
  5. Drive innovation in testing methodologies, tools, and processes, implementing automated testing frameworks.
  6. Collaborate with relevant teams to align on future testing resource requirements, objectives, and outcomes.
  7. Communicate testing progress, results, and issues to stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights.
  8. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the data testing team.
  9. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data collection, storage, and analytics tools.
About You:
  • Proficient in writing and understanding SQL scripts to create data files, analyze data, and generate results.
  • Knowledgeable in GIT and experienced in maintaining source code repositories.
  • Skilled in both Functional and Non-Functional Testing, with the ability to lead the testing process from start to finish.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Essential knowledge or experience in testing within Databricks environments.
  • Prior experience in automating testing and using automation tools and test management tools, with a preference for Azure DevOps Test Plans.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and security standards, ensuring compliance during testing processes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline testing and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in testing practices.
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve high performance, through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance.
