About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a skilled Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team in Bowen. As a vital member of our emergency response team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to fire and emergency incidents, working collaboratively with other emergency services teams to ensure effective response and recovery.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education and outreach activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular training and drills, ensuring safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Contribute to incident reporting, station administration, and upkeep of station facilities.

Requirements:

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
