Job Title

The role of a Cancer Services Manager is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of an integrated and effective service.

  • This position entails providing strong leadership and senior management to the Clinical Stream - Cancer Services.
  • Ensuring the implementation and follow-up of District Priorities, Ministry of Health, and State-Wide Pillar models of care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership and management to the Clinical Stream - Cancer Services.
  • Implementing and following up on District Priorities, Ministry of Health, and State-Wide Pillar models of care.
  • Monitoring compliance with policy directives and guidelines.
  • Ensuring SESLHD meets the Ministry of Health performance targets and designated KPIs.
Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications in clinical or health management and current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia; OR Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Professionals (State) Award and registration with AHPRA and/or governing discipline body if required by the Award; OR Full Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), along with a minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited Masters degree or higher in clinical psychology (or equivalent AOPE area).

  • Proven experience in delivering key service outcomes and leadership at senior management level within designated timeframes in a large and complex health organisation.
  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to healthcare provision and management necessary to improve health outcomes for service consumers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in all aspects of the management of human resource/financial/administrative/clinical services using strategic/business planning, integration, and evaluation skills to ensure available resources are used effectively within complex teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, decision-making, and influencing skills, including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders from all organisational levels.
  • A demonstrated ability to use technology and available data to inform strategic planning and development.
