About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Practice Leader to join our team in supporting the transition of Aboriginal children to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs). This role is critical in ensuring the well-being and safety of Aboriginal children in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to ACCOs to expand their case contracting program or Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care program.
  • Collaborate with the broader Child Protection program to identify and prepare children for transfer to ACCOs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ACCOs, child protection practitioners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management and decision-making.
  • Conduct risk assessments and analysis to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop and implement culturally informed practice and safety strategies to support Aboriginal children in care.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in child protection and Aboriginal community work.
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
