Education Leadership Role

The role of an Education Leader is to provide strategic leadership and expertise in teaching and learning within the school community. As a key member of the educational team, you will be responsible for driving whole-school improvement initiatives related to the School Strategic Plan (SSP) and Annual Implementation Plan (AIP). This involves developing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives using action plans aligned to AIP and FISO improvement cycle.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the implementation of SSP and AIP initiatives across the school.
  • Talent Development: Develop and implement high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
  • Curriculum Management: Ensure all curriculum is guaranteed and viable, consistently mapped, and accessible to all members of the school community.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school by leading schools approach to assessment and reporting processes, and working with Student Learning and Wellbeing Leader (year 11 and 12).
Selection Criteria:
  • Curriculum Expertise: Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum.
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the implementation of school priorities and the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
  • Talent Management: Demonstrated ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Culture Alignment: Demonstrated ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and support colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes.
