About the Role:

As a Defence representative, you will engage with diverse stakeholders including Defence personnel, contractors, interest groups, the local community and Australian and international visitors to deliver exceptional outcomes. Key responsibilities include supporting environmental conservation, visitor liaison, educational activities, site protection of cultural significance and field-based operations (including emergency response management).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearheading environmental conservation efforts.
  • Liaising with stakeholders for seamless communication.
  • Developing and implementing educational programs.
  • Promoting the protection of sites of cultural significance.
  • Managing field-based activities, including emergency response incidents.

Our Ideal Candidate: You must possess initiative, enjoy working outdoors, be reasonably fit for manual physical labour under various conditions and have excellent customer service skills. Additionally, you should have confidence engaging with the public, apply sound judgement in directing range visitors during emergency incidents and possess well-developed communication skills to influence diverse stakeholders.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you must possess administrative and computer skills, records and finance management experience, including taking monies and receipting. Furthermore, an understanding of Aboriginal culture and traditional custodianship is essential as well as connection to Country.
