Position Overview:

The role of the Level 3 Physiotherapist specializing in Neurosciences is a permanent, part-time opportunity within the esteemed Physiotherapy team at Healthscope. This position entails delivering exceptional physiotherapy services, particularly within the Acute Stroke Unit and for inpatient neurological and neurosurgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Acute Stroke Unit and manage care for patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants in these specialized areas.
  • Engage in managerial responsibilities as assigned by the Department Manager.
  • Contribute to a comprehensive 7-day physiotherapy service across various inpatient settings, including intensive care and surgical wards.
  • Participate in weekend and public holiday rosters as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration.
  • A minimum of 5 years' clinical experience in an acute care hospital environment.
  • Extensive background in treating acute stroke, neurological, and neurosurgical patients.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality clinical care, including patient assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities within a clinical setting.
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff and facilitating their professional development.
  • Active involvement in service development and quality enhancement initiatives within the Physiotherapy Department.
  • Strong collaboration skills with senior staff and management on service delivery and strategic planning.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
