Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Clarke Energy. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for gas powered generation, CHP plants, energy storage systems, and microgrids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate and develop concepts into designs to meet functional and contractual specifications of secured orders.
  • Develop and detail specifications, produce calculations, and make component selection.
  • Use software to carry out load flow, fault analysis, and protection studies.
  • Support and assist in the sales stage of a project by ensuring conceptual design and tender preparation documents are provided to meet timescales and quality standards.
  • Liaise with Mechanical Design Engineer to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
  • Liaise with CAD draughtsman to coordinate and lead activity to ensure design packages are produced to required timescales and standards of quality.
  • Provide support to Project Manager during design, installation, commissioning, and testing phases of the project.
  • Liaise with existing and potential customers and their representatives.
  • Participate in and lead HAZOP and risk assessment studies.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure design standards and specifications are up to date.
  • Ensure software requirements of the section are met and achieved.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND if supported by substantial relevant experience).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of working in an associated industry with a background in power generation (between 1-25 MW).
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage power trains and associated control and instrumentation.
  • Good IT skills - MS Office.

Desirable:

  • Professional registration.
  • Experience in CHP.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Auto CAD draughting package or similar.
