Job Summary

QinetiQ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to join our Engineering Services business. As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Makerspace facilities, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance of consumable levels, machine readiness, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Coordinate and deliver client inductions and technical training, including the setup and running of makerspace operational processes.
  • Administer and implement safety systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage equipment and consumable inventory, ensuring optimal utilization and minimizing waste.
  • Support and guide local innovation activities and events, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Develop and maintain site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Collect and report facility and equipment usage data, providing insights for process improvement.
  • Assist users in developing creative problem-solving and ideation skills through hands-on experience and technical guidance.
  • Consult with users to identify project support requirements and develop technical support plans.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and project-related issues, reporting to stakeholders as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of technical trades experience in Electronics, IT, Electrical, Fitter machinist, or Mechanical/Mechatronics, or 2 years of engineering experience in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience working on design and prototyping unique solutions or low-rate production runs.
  • Experience with fabrication machines, software, and associated technologies, such as Laser CNC, 3D printing, PCB printing, VR/AR development, and smart applications.
  • Ability to coach and mentor users to achieve project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the operation of fabrication machines and associated software.
  • Ability to research and select off-the-shelf software solutions for timely project recommendations.
  • Eligibility for Australian Defence security clearance.
