Asphalt Foreperson Job Description

The primary function of this role is to oversee the smooth execution of asphalt laying and paving operations on various surfaces.

  • Ensure all crew members are following established safety protocols and best practices.
  • Coordinate with spotters and traffic control to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment, tools, and PPE in good condition.
  • Oversee housekeeping of plant, equipment, and job site.
  • Monitor supplies and notify supervisors of purchasing requirements.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinating and prioritizing tasks on site.
  • Coordinating with Spotters and Traffic Control on site.
  • Ensuring all necessary pre-start checks are completed.
  • Maintaining and storing tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Notifying Supervisor of faulty plant, tools, or equipment.
  • Overseeing housekeeping of plant, equipment, and job site.
  • Monitoring supplies and notifying Supervisor of purchasing requirements.
  • Identifying job hazards and implementing solutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil Road Construction Industry.
  • Current licenses, certificates, and competencies relevant to the position.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills for teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven leadership qualities.
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
