This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. As a teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in the primary years.
Walkaway Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our regional school. Our school caters for approximately 65 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, in multi-age classes. We have a strong ethos of being a warm and caring community with a real family atmosphere, created by older students working with and looking after the younger students.
The school is located in the township area surrounded by farmland and community facilities. It has shady trees and areas of well-established gardens, green grass, a large undercover area, and a large, reticulated oval. Our school environment has been further enhanced with the inclusion of Nature Play areas fostering creative and imaginative play, sensory opportunities, physical challenges and risk taking and problem solving.
Our ideal candidate will establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, set high expectations, cultivate a growth mindset, and nurture students' social and emotional development. They will ideally exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to delivering best practice.
As a member of our team, they will ideally have experience in designing and delivering engaging literacy and numeracy programs using high-impact teaching strategies. They will ideally understand how to use differentiation to meet diverse student needs and demonstrate proficiency in utilising various assessment tools to inform progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide future classroom planning.

RequirementsTo work with us, you must:
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
