Food and Beverage Operations Supervisor

The primary function of this role is to oversee the daily food and beverage operations, including front-of-house activities, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction.

  • This position requires a strong leader who can coach, mentor, and train colleagues whilst leading and coordinating operational outlets.
  • A key responsibility of this role is people development through check-in conversations, probationary reviews, and annual performance evaluations.
  • The supervisor will also be responsible for responding appropriately to guest complaints and concerns, soliciting feedback, and building relationships that drive continuous improvements in guest satisfaction.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food handling and alcohol service standards, is also a critical aspect of this role.
  • Rostering colleagues according to outlet business forecasts and requirements, managing labor costs, and optimizing shift efficiency are essential tasks.
  • Overseeing inventory management, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste, is another important responsibility.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination between front- and back-of-house operations is crucial for success.
  • This role also involves implementing and enforcing company policies, including cash handling, upselling techniques, and customer service protocols.
  • Proper setup, execution, and breakdown of conference and event spaces, including catering and beverage services tailored to client specifications, require close attention to detail.
  • Assisting in menu planning, special promotions, and event coordination as needed is an additional responsibility.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage or hospitality industry, preferably with experience in conference and event operations.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including service standards, menu planning, inventory management, and event catering.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team across dining and event settings.
