About the RoleThe Chief Financial Officer will oversee the financial operations of the business, including financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting. Reporting to the Managing Director, the key responsibilities for this role include:
- Financial Leadership: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Process Improvement: Review the current ERP and BI tools to implement process efficiencies and meaningful reporting across the business.
- Cost Management: Implement accurate costing models and inventory controls.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement projects focused on process automation, data analytics, cost optimisation, and strategic growth.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including forecasting, working capital management, and maintaining banking relationships.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyse financial statements, highlighting key insights, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed variance analysis and key performance insights to the business.
- Team Leadership: Establish strong working relationships with executive stakeholders and the operations team.
- Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors to facilitate annual compliance obligations.
- Finance Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team.
We seek a Chief Financial Officer who is a strategic long-term thinker and a hands-on leader. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- A professional qualification (CA/CPA).
- Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer or in a similar senior finance role, ideally within the manufacturing, maintenance, or related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and costing.
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial management software.
- Demonstrated experience with stock control and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and develop a team.
- A strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
