About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Practitioner to join our dynamic team within the Critical Care Division. This exciting opportunity offers a unique chance to enhance your expertise in Emergency Ultrasound Special Skills Rotation.

The Ultrasound Special Skills post is specifically aimed at Advanced trainees in Emergency Medicine who wish to develop a special interest in Point of Care Ultrasound.

This position requires a diverse skill set, including proficiency in emergency ultrasound techniques, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate patient care. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, collaborating to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and well-being.

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients in critical situations. Utilising your advanced ultrasound skills, you will contribute to accurate and timely diagnoses, enabling swift and effective treatment plans.

Key Goals of the Ultrasound Post

  • Achieve proficiency in the core ACEM modules ie. EFAST, AAA, FELS, lung and procedural needle guidance.
  • Be involved in quality improvement processes and education; complete a project in this regard, with the expectation that this will be presented at a scientific conference or submitted for journal publication.
  • Learn about managerial aspects of running an ultrasound program and proficiency in Information Technology is desirable but not essential.
