Patient Support Associate

This entry-level position involves supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing essential support services to clinical staff, contributing to a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with patients in a confident and positive manner. Patient care will be at the core of this role, aligned with our Mission and Values.
Key Responsibilities- Under supervision, assist with transporting patients and equipment.
- Distribute meals, collect patient trays, clean kitchens and fridges, distribute menus.
- Safely segregate, collect, handle, store, transport, treat, and dispose of various waste streams, including infectious, pathological, chemical, and pharmaceutical waste.
- Strip sanitize beds and remake after patient discharge. Clean, tidy, and sanitize ward areas.
- Deliver and maintain high standards of cleanliness across hospital areas, including wards and operating theatres.
- Comply with HACCP, workplace health and safety, and infection control requirements.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as decontamination of beds, wards, and equipment.
- Check inventory of oxygen and suction equipment, replace as necessary after discharge, and check oxygen cylinders.
- Maintain stock levels in cleaners' room and trolley; report faulty equipment.
- Ensure equipment used during shifts is cleaned, restocked, and stored correctly.
- Salary: $61,043.98 to $63,223.15, plus 12% superannuation.
- Casual Hourly Rate: $38.49 to $39.86 (includes 25% loading), plus 12% superannuation.
