Job Description

Horticulture professionals play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our environment. As a Horticulturist with the City, you will be responsible for implementing various horticultural programs and projects, including tree planting, staking, and pruning. You will also assist in making informed decisions and provide support to staff members and apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the City's winter tree planting program for parks, reserves, and streetscapes.
  • Maintain and enhance urban landscapes through effective management of plants, trees, and other vegetation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff members and apprentices as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or relevant experience in a Parks maintenance environment.
  • Current 'LR' class driver's licence.
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card).
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and health regulations.
  • Relevant practical experience in landscape/amenity horticulture.

  • A competitive weekly wage of $1,488 (gross) including all allowances and penalty rates.
