We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Home Care Support Worker at our East Lake Macquarie Dementia Service (ELMD) day centre.

As a Home Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our consumers and helping them have a great day by engaging in daily activities, games, and fun.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred care that respects the dignity and worth of each individual
  • Assist with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Support consumers in maintaining their independence and choice
  • Act as an advocate for consumers, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected
  • Work effectively as part of a team to provide a safe and supportive environment
  • Perform duties as delegated by supervisors to meet the needs of clients and carers attending our programs
  • Assist with transport as a driver or escort, using Anglican Care motor vehicles and buses
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Aged Care Work or equivalent
  • Proven ability to deliver person-centred care that respects the dignity and worth of each individual
  • Current First Aid Certificate (ongoing requirement)
  • Able to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Willingness to undertake further on-the-job training in palliative and dementia care
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • An understanding of safe work practices and proven experience in the use of appropriate manual handling techniques
