Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Waste Centre Operator to become a vital part of our client's Waste Recovery Centre team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tip trucks and loaders to efficiently collect and manage waste within the community.

Responsibilities

As a Waste Centre Operator, your duties will include:

  • Driving tip trucks to collect waste from various customers.
  • Operating loaders and forklifts to maneuver waste within the facility.
  • Conducting routine pre-operational checks and maintenance on vehicles.
  • Managing billing and invoicing processes using electronic payment systems.
  • Effectively handling customer disputes and providing resolution.
  • Assisting in the removal of hazardous materials, including asbestos.
  • Supporting weighbridge operations and ensuring accurate loading.
  • Performing additional general labor tasks as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience operating tip trucks, loaders, and forklifts in a waste management setting.
  • Strong customer service skills, particularly in conflict resolution.
  • Relevant certifications: HC license, Loader operator ticket, High Risk LF license.
  • Proficiency with technology, including tablets and electronic payment systems.
  • Physical fitness to lift weights up to 25 kgs.
  • A current police clearance.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Personal transportation and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
